Baby it's cold outside

Need a new coat this season? Whether you want to invest in a classic style, or snap up a fashion statement, there's something for everyone. If it's fashion you are after, look for bold colours and textures, big buttons, sixties shapes, statement collars, even 3/4 sleeves to show off this season's long line gloves!

Choose wisely to flatter your shape. A pretty Jackie O kind of coat looks fabulous on someone with with little shape , but may not be as flattering with a fuller bust.

Fashion isn't all ladylike at the moment. The catwalks were awash with that urban staple, the parka. Some were thrown, Stella McCartney style, over delicate dresses, while others were teamed with snow boots. Parkas are popular for the good old fashioned reason that they're actually very practical.

Suede and leather are luxury options when it comes to coats. While not exactly practical in the rain, they are cosy and very wind-proof.

Classic coats have their own allure. Ignore those who say that petite women should avoid long coats; it simply isn't true. As long as the proportions are right, you too can sashay down the street, even if it's only to grab some milk at the corner store!

P.F's Celeb of the week

Cheryl Burke 5'4"She has just won Dancing with the Stars for the second time! I'm hoping for lessons for Christmas so I have an excuse to wear those outfits. She is based in New York City, where she is a professional dancer. She started ballroom dancing at age 11 year and hasn't stopped since! For Cheryl, dancing is a way of life. It provides a medium for her to express her inner feelings and passion all the while maintaining focus and composure during extremely high-pressure situations. It is dancing that has made her such a competitor (both on and off the floor) and made her strive for perfection in anything that she sets out to do.Cheryl says that her dancing style is unlike anyone else's. She takes pride in being a "rule breaker" and feels that her greatest achievements in dancing are still to come. Honors include 2005 World Cup Professional Rising Star Latin Champion UK Championships and 4th in U.S. in the "Under 21s." She also won the third season with Emmitt Smith. Cheryl Burke was nominated twice for Outstanding Choreography on the 2006 Emmy Awards.

Petite Provocateur

The "Petite provocateur" jean by 'Joe's Jeans' are simply the best petite jean on the market. They fit me like a glove and if worn with a heel you will not need them hemmed. The fading is where it's suppose to be, they hug all the right places and the cut is classic. I wore them out to a play with my sis and I felt confident and classy in my "dressy jeans". These are definitely my new going out jeans. If you are looking for the perfect pair, I've found them and so should you!

Kelly Ripa 5'4" We first met her as gothic teen turned suffering heroine Hayley Vaughan on the soap opera All My Children. Starting on the show in 1990, the character of Hayley quickly drew a large following.
In early 1995 her character was paired with Mark Consuelos' character, Mateo Santos. A romance blossomed between the castmates, with Ripa and Consuelos eloping in 1996. Eventually, they had three children — Michael Joseph Consuelos, born June 2, 1997; Lola Grace Consuelos, born June 16, 2001; and Joaquin Antonio Consuelos, born February 24, 2003. In a mutual decision, the couple left All My Children in December 2002. We now see her every morning with Regis on 'LIVE', I love the energy & personality she brings to it. Here is her recent Tide commercial is really cute with her hubby.

William Rast

Petite Celebs are loving Justin Timberlake's new line, William Rast. Seen here, Christina Ricci (5'1"), Elisha Cuthbert (5'4") and Jessica Simpson (5'3") have all been spotted rockin' the line. He launched the label with childhood friend Trace Ayala this month at Bloomingdales. It's not yet available in Canada, but is available from variety of online shops. Their style is street chic meets country, Timberlake has said of the line, "This clothing is representative of where we come from - it's sort of country, but it has also got a little edge and a little chic to it".” The label is called William (the name of Justin's grandfather) Rast (the last name of Trace'’s grandfather). On the runway, there were skinny jeans, topped with tanks. Other styles included cropped cardigans, shrunken sweaterdresses and puffy-sleeved blouses with bows at the neck. His party dresses for women were funky and flirty.

P.F's Celeb of the week

Kylie Minogue 5'1"
She is a phenomenon of truly international proportions. To date she has released nine albums. Kylie is one of the world's most successful female music artists, but she wasn't always known as a singer. Kylie started her career at age eleven when asked to act in the national Australian T.V. drama series 'Skyways'. By the time Kylie was out of her teens she had won five Logies (the Australian equivalent of an Emmy); the youngest actress ever to do so. Kylie's recording career began in 1987 when she released her first single, a remake of the '60's Little Eva hit "Locomotion". Kylie was awarded 'Woman Of The Year' 2002 at the Elle style awards while the record-breaking 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' garnered 3 Ivor Novello Awards for Best International Single, Best Dance Record and Most Played Record of The Year, and scooped an MTV Award for Best Choreography in a Music Video. In 2003 Kylie's lingerie range, 'Love Kylie', was launched in the UK in Selfridges to a massive media frenzy and incredible sales. Demand far exceeded supply with Selfridges doubling their orders to cope.
Kylie was voted the sexiest pop pin up in the world by VH1 and her 'Agent Provocateur' commercial won Best Cinema Commercial of the Year at the British TV Awards. Currently, she is getting ready for the 'Showgirl Tour' in Australia. It's her homecoming tour and her fans can't wait! She is an excellent role model and a breast cancer surviver.

THE BASICS

1 The classic trench A basic belted one is versatile and comes in a variety of fabric and color options.

*White Dress Shirt from the petite section at Banana Republic.

5 A cashmere sweater. The fabric is luxurious and the look is versatile. Wear it to the office, an evening on the town or just
chilling out at home. Invest in a colour that is vibrant, you'll feel good in it and look great.
*Uniqlo cashmere sweater in turquoise. It's a Japanese line that fits small.

6 A sexy camisole for a hint of sexiness, wear this essential with a jacket, a cardigan, or by itself for evening.
*All the styles from Accessorize (they come in sets too) I own almost all of them accessorize.com

7 A slimming A-line skirt with just enough volume to move with you is always feminine and fun.

14 The gym-to-street shoe. Stay comfortable and fashionable throughout the entire day, whether you're on an power walk or
heading about town for your daily or weekly errands.
*Pumas are my fav. puma.com

15 A lightweight and warm parka that keeps you cozy and chic on cold days.
*The Warmest Jacket from GAP in off white gap.com

16 A great support tank or sportsbra to go bra-less at the gym or when casual.
*I don't need much support, but I look for a shelf bra in my cotton camis

17 Comfy lounge pants. The best thing to come home to and wear all weekend.
*Lululemon yoga pants are the best, they look amazing too. FREE ALTERATIONS lululemon.com

18 Music to go. Listening to your fav song walking to work is the best way to start your day.

CAREER MUST-HAVES

19 A signature scarf. It's a piece that can add instant style impact to a suit or a crisp white shirt. Pick one in the most
flattering colour; tie it onto your neck or purse handle, or twist it and wear it as a simple, but vibrant, belt.
*Accessorize accessorize.com

20 The confidence-building suit, from boardroom to bistro, an up-to-date, well-fitting suit flatters your shape. And it offers
endless style options: Wear blazer and pants with a blouse for that impress-everyone meeting; pair the pants with a crisp
white shirt and cashmere sweater for everyday; or add a camisole to the suit (along with a sexy pair of heels) for that
evening event.
*A basic black suit: anntaylor.com, victoriassecret.com, bananarepublic.com. I found mine at a vintage store and I had
major alterations done, including shaping the cut of the jacket (I don't recommend this $$)
*If you live in Toronto visit Muskat Brown, where they will find you the perfect suit and make any necessary "fine tuning"
alterations.

21 A sophisticated belt A well-crafted leather belt looks polished and completes your look. Pair it over a long blouse, with a
suit or to dress up a basic tank.
*Black Patent wrap belt by Accessorize accessorize.com

22 Diva shades. The easiest way to class up any outfit is with a super-classy pair of sunglasses. A general rule of thumb
when shopping for the perfect pair: Rounded frames soften a square jaw line, square frames slim cheeks and rectangular
frames add width and dimension to your face.
*Invest in a name brand. Shop around expensive shops then go on ebay or just buy them at full price.
*The Chanel Aviator is on my search list

Evening Essentials

23 A clutch. Accessorise your evening wardrobe with a sleek, just big enough to hold your keys, cash and cell phone.
*I have about 50 clutches but, my fav is a gold fabric clutch that I found at a antique show.
*You can shop anyone for one. Don't spend a fortune and try something other then black.

24 High heels that you feel great in. They should be comfortable (relatively). You should be able to wear them for more then
just evening. These heels should make an outfit.
*The Purist platform pump by Stuart Weitzman stuartweitzman.com

25 LBD. You know what this is and why you need it.
*Betsey Johnson betseyjohnson.com
