I love the way long necklaces look on petites, because they elongate your frame. Although, they don't always work on busty petites because they don't sit right over the bust.
While you can buy a million versions of this necklace, why not make one this summer? Get Crafty!
Here are great examples:
NO-HASSLE TASSEL
Supplies: one gold tassel ($2–$4, at craft stores), a gold chain necklace ($3, at craft stores), a large bead or stone, craft glue
1. Knot the top of the loop on the tassel to create a 1/4-inch-long hole for the chain necklace to go through.
2. Directly below the knot, glue the bead or stone onto the tassel.
3. Thread the gold chain onto the tassel through the hole you made at the top. VoilĂ !
BAUBLELICIOUS NECKLACE
Supplies: 2 yards metallic-silver elastic cord ($2/yard, at craft stores), six medium black beads and six large silver beads ($1-$5/bag, at craft stores), scissors.
STEP 1: String one silver bead onto center of cord. Knot cord on each side of bead to secure. Add two black beads—one on each side of the silver bead—and knot cord to secure black beads in place.
STEP 2: Knot cord 2 1/2 inches up from one black bead. Add a silver bead and knot cord. Knot cord another 2 1/2 inches up. Add a black, a silver, and a black bead, knotting between each one, to repeat pattern from first step.
STEP 3: Repeat step 2 on opposite side of necklace.
STEP 4: Knot last bead onto end of one side of cord. Tie loop on other end of cord (making sure it will fit over last bead) to create a clasp. Slip loop over bead to close.
