With each season, the choices of new clothes are endless. Clothes come in high-low lengths and the indefinitely combinations of waistlines, lengths, cuts and fabrics can often lead the common consumer into a sort of frenzied out buying spree, only to discover the money blown wasn't really worth it.
Shopping tips when buying this season:
Length is in this season, especially the long skirts that go right down to mid calf, but just because tall, skinny teenagers on the catwalk can pull it off, it doesn't mean it's fair game for the petite fashionista. If you do want to try a longer skirt, make sure it goes just below the knees or all the way to your ankles because that awkward cut of mid-calf lengths are unflattering as anything. Also, make sure the skirt fits right and balance the length with a fitted top. The emphasis on waist is also especially key for the shorter bunch.

Don't buy things that are overly trendy and that ooze now. Fashion is evolving quicker than ever, and sometimes that top that your dying for right now may only last a season before being tossed for another fad. Invest in classics and that trip to the tailors always helps.
The most flattering option, as always, is a cut that is above the knee. This season, a fuller skirt that falls away from the body is and for those who invested in the flora trend du jour of spring, that airy skirt can continue to flourish with a fitted wool coat and amazing booties. Shown at Marc by Marc Jacobs, that perfect casual sequin tee exudes youth when paired with a pleated school girl skirt. Lastly for the sophisticate bunch, that silk printed skirt is perfectly artistic and shows just the right amount of legs when layered over transparent tights and a fabulous pair of winter boots.
